Another month, another DVLA auction. The auction that ran from 27th July 2022 to 2nd August 2022 was an online sale, as all DVLA auctions have been since the live events were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. That said, we understand that DVLA has provisional plans to begin holding live auction events again later this year.
As we have seen previously, the auctions remain very busy and prices paid remain very respectable. Indeed, some numbers have achieved much higher sums than expected.
DVLA online auction this May has, once again, demonstrated the resilience and perhaps surprising buoyancy of the UK private plates market.
DVLA's April auction was another online event. The usual mixed bag of registrations went under the hammer and although prices remain good, quite a few purchasers seem to have netted bargains.
The DVLA sales are always a mixed bag with prices very much dependent upon the selection on offer. A fair bit of the interest this time was around Ferrari- themed numbers and the star of the show was 812 GTS which sold for an all-in price of £42,848. If one can afford £300,000 for a drop-top Ferrari 812 GTS then the ultimate plate to make the car truly unique must be an attractive proposition.
