The last DVLA auction of this year was an online event that ran from Wednesday 19th November to Tuesday 25th November 2025.

November's top 5
TON 1S (Toni's) was this month's strongest performer, selling for £63,141. In second place was 111 SO which went for £37,172 and in third place was 3000 O at £35,318. The last, as well as featuring the consistently high-achieving letter 'O', also displays the character repetition that has also proved popular.

Fourth position went to EMZ 1 at £31,619. Some might expect a number-one registration to sell for a little more than that, but it must be remembered that the fewer letters, the more valuable a number-one plate tends to be. EMZ are also relatively uncommon initials, which means less competition at auction and a more limited market than a number-one with a more common set of initials. That said, 'Emz' could be a diminutive of Emily or Emma.
In fifth place, 154 M may have been chosen for the single initial 'M', or as a representation of '1 Sam'. Either way, the purchaser evidently considered it worthy of its £30,968 final price.
Words
This month probably won't be remembered for its word registration numbers. There were a few, but they were mostly compromises, with superfluous characters here and there preventing perfect representations.
The highest priced apparent word plate was 80 OTY (Booty), which achieved £21,784 followed (in descending price order) by B80 OSS (Boss) at £11,464, CR75 TAL (Crystal, which could be a name or a word) at £11,093, JOK 66R (Joker) at £10,178, 51 OT (Slot) at £10,116 and POW 666R (Power) at £9,844.
Names
We have already seen TON 1S at the top of the rankings, 154 M, and CR75 TAL (which earns a place in both the name and word categories).
In addition to those, we saw UMR 4H (Umrah) which sold for £24,998, AHM 3T (Ahmet) at £18,484, WA75 ONS (Watson's) at £14,924, RAH 11B (Rahab/Rahib) at £13,688, AKH 9N (A Khan) at £12,452 and H44 RYJ (Harry J) at £9,004.
'Singh' plates are popular and the potential audience for them is substantial and active. Luckily, there has, so far been no shortage, and they are a regular auction feature. This month, OS51 NGH (O Singh) sold for £8,126.
Cars
Like words, obvious and unambiguous car references were a little less prominent than they often are. 76 FER (£5,494) was very likely bought as a Ferrari number, but it's hard to be sure with just the first three letters of the brand name. The same goes for 20 LAM (£5,036,) and LAM 89S (£3,788) which may be Lamborghini references. L48 MBO (£5,036) is a much more obvious Lamborghini plate, and S62 BMW (£3,059) seems unlikely to be anything but a BMW number.
As usual, Porsche owners were amongst the best catered for. There were a fair few 911 registrations up for grabs, including 911 DHS (£16,296), 911 SST (£8,126), 911 SJB (£8,102), P911 RED (£5,160) and TJP 911 (£4,418).
