On Sunday 6th July, dozens of cars and their plate-loving owners braved the torrential rain to head to the Registration Numbers Club Rally at Wythall Transport Museum. Spirits were slightly soggy on the journey, but just in time, the skies cleared, the sun broke through, and the day turned out beautifully. It was a great great setting at Wythall Transport Museum, with its fantastic collection of classic buses, vehicles, and transport heritage.

The event saw over 60 cars arrive with an extraordinary variety of registration numbers. From sleek single-letter plates to clever initials, cheeky wordplay, personalised names, and the ever-impressive number one plates. There was something to intrigue, amuse, or impress just about everyone. There’s a real sense of delight in the creativity of number plate collectors, and the day offered plenty of chances to swap stories and admire the details.

Regtransfers were proud to sponsor the trophy awards, which continue to highlight the imagination and individuality that number plates represent.

This year, a journalist and photographer from The Guardian were present, covering the unique world of personalised registrations and the people who love them. Their perspective will undoubtedly shine a new light on what makes this hobby so engaging and enduring.

As ever, it was lovely to see so many familiar faces and to meet new ones, with some attendees having been there since the very first rally in 1977.
