Halloween is more popular than ever in the UK. It's still not as big as it is in the USA, but over the last few decades, the British version of Halloween has definitely taken on more of the American style.
Trick-or-treat and fancy dress are now the norm and, where Halloween costumes used to feature ghosts made from old sheets, vampires with cheap plastic fangs and toilet-roll mummies, we now see people in elaborate fancy dress as Marvel comic and movie heroes, anime characters and more. Although both trick-or-treat and the practice of wearing costumes for Halloween seem likely to have originated in Scotland, we in the UK now follow the American approach where anything goes, so far as dressing up is concerned.
At Regtransfers, we're traditionalists in some respects. We still like our Halloween to be eerie and grotesque. Longstanding visitors to our site may remember the epic Halloween movie we produced some years ago. With a huge budget and a cast of thousands, we were very disappointed when an Oscar nomination failed to materialise.
