Five UK country drives

Five of our favourite UK country drives graphic

What use is a car, and its snazzy personalised number plate, if you can’t take it out for a spin along some of Britain’s country roads? The sensation of speed, coupled with awe-inspiring scenery is one of the things that we think makes life worth living. So, we’ve decided to start sharing some of our favourite drives from across England, Scotland and Wales.

How the car came to be

JFIF File

Every time you shut the front door and approach your car, you’re looking at millennia of progress condensed into a steel, rubber and alloy package. Today we’re looking at the technological leaps that made your daily motoring possible and that gave you somewhere to hang your precious private number plate!

Five top driving games

JFIF File

We can’t always be out cruising the countryside in our cars - it’s just a simple fact of life. Wonderful then, that we have video games that allow us to race, perform stunts and otherwise tear up the roads in cars that we would never otherwise be able to drive. We’ve picked five of our favourites - we’d also like to hear some of yours.

Six excellent car museums

JFIF File

If you want to see some classic cars up close, you only have a few options. There’s car shows, but these are only temporary and, well, can cost quite a bit. The weather can also end up getting in the way. We’re much more fond of a good car museum that showcases the very best that a car manufacturer has created over the decades. Here’s several of our favourites.
