8 MU

For Mark Undery, it’s all about family life, as two daughters and a wife keep him pretty busy. Outside of that dominant interest, Mark says he just about finds time to keep the cars clean and pursue his interests in old-school BMX bikes and watches.

Mark bought his 8 MU personal registration back in the 1990s. “My dad had the plate 60 BWU (Bruce William Undery), which is now with my brother, so plates were on my radar. I was looking at three numbers and three initials when a friend popped up and said he’d seen 8 MU for sale in a press advertisement. My initial thoughts were that it would be way beyond my budget, but I enquired on the price, made an offer and the plate became mine.”

By chance, 8 happens to be the number of the family home. Although it’s just a coincidence, Mark has been asked if they bought the house to match the plate, or vice versa.

Mark’s wife, Sarah, has had UN17 ERY on her Kia Sportage. Previously she had UN13 ERY on her Ford Fiesta, but that number is now on retention, waiting for the couple’s daughters to start driving.
