I am 21 years old and a very keen number plate enthusiast having recently had my second personalised registration transferred to my current car.
Since the age of about 12 I have wanted my own personal number plate. When I saw a couple on some of our family friends cars and thought they looked quite impressive.
A month after I got my first car for my 18th Birthday (a 1 litre Vauxhall Corsa), I began searching for an appropriate registration and finally settled on V88 AJR which incorporates my initials with the year I was born.
Soon after this I then realised that I would be able to get my name on a number plate and spent the following three years browsing the Internet, but could not justify buying another one as ‘ASH’ registrations were thousands of pounds.
I then came across your website where I began collecting your magazine and book; inspired by interesting registrations I would regularly check your site for suitable plates. Last September, whilst in my third year of my degree, I decided that I would buy an ‘ASH’ registration if I passed my course as this would be an appropriate time and would be a reward to myself.
I passed my course in May 2009, a month after my 21st birthday, and the very day I received my grades, foundASH 74R for a reasonable price so decided to buy it. It is now transferred onto my current car, a Vauxhall Corsa SXi and looks great. I have noticed people recognise me more than with my old registration and a number of people have commented on how good it looks.
