Denby pottery works was established by William Bourne in 1809, and subsequently gave the task of running the business to his son Joseph. Three years earlier William had realised the potential of a seam of fine clay found during the construction of a toll road linking the towns of Alfreton and Derby.

Originally they made salt-glazed pots and jars, but started producing decorative items and colourful glazes in the early 1900s. In the early 1940s they began producing their now famous ranges of tableware.

There may only be 13,000 people with this name but if you also take into account the parish of Denby with a population in excess of 15,000, you can easily see what a wide appeal this exceptional history laden number plate has.

With this adorning the family car you are sure to get the admiration of all your friends and family. Let alone the residents of the Parish. And how often do you get the chance to invest in something so perfect and so personal?
