A Versatile Plate

It was back in 1983, when the prefix format was first launched, that I first became interested in owning a personal number plate.

I was in the works canteen with a few colleagues discussing the best combinations available. Keith very much fancied K1 ETH and I thought K1 ANG would be great for me - Of course we would have to wait until 1993 for these combinations.

Over the years, I must have checked the number plate ads in magazines and newspapers a thousand times, but the elusive K1 ANG was not to be found.

In 2002, my wife suggested that I could have a plate for my birthday. By then, I had discovered the Regtransfers web site and was searching for a plate with my initials. I was about to purchase another plate, when I found K1 ANG on your site. It was in the ANG for Angela search. I made an offer over the phone and found your staff very helpful. All I had to do was send off a cheque and the necessary paperwork and the Regtransfers team did the rest. It wasn't long before I was able to display my new plate and it has definitely enhanced the look of my car.

My purchase has potential to grow in value: I was approached at a motorway services, by a Mr Kiang, who has offered me far more than I paid for it. However, after waiting for it for so long myself, I will hold onto it for some time yet.

Before I bought K1 ANG, I only saw it to represent 'K Lang'. Now I see it to be very versatile. It can be:

• KIA NG as in the car manufacturer
• K IAN G representing the name Ian.
• K1 ANG representing the name Angela
• KIAN G as in the name Kian. (e.g. Kian Egan of Westlife fame. )
• KIANG as in the surname Kiang
  
  And - not a lot of people know this and I don't suppose many people care, but - a Kiang is a rare and endangered wild Tibetan ass! .
