Now That's What I Call an Investment - 14 CEY

I bought M14 CEY back in 1994. I had wanted the number plate when I first started driving at 17 back in 1988, but had to play the long waiting game until the M-regs were released.
I was a proper yuppie in those days. I had a filofax bigger than the yellow pages and a mobile phone the size of a small country. I remember being at work with the land line on constant redial as well as the mobile till the battery ran out.
I purchased the number for £250 and I've been offered a hundred times more recently. Now that's what i call an investment.
I purchased 14 CEY for Mrs Lacey's Christmas present last year. The negotiations lasted about three months with Regtransfers but, in the end, we struck a deal we were both happy with. The plate cost more than the car, but exclusivity doesn't come cheap.
I'm now looking for my next number to go on a motorbike. My wife says if I buy one she will leave.
I'm sure going to miss her.
