Texas Also Set to 'Choose Life'

Texan motorists have won the right to display the "Choose Life" slogan on their vehicle registration plates.

Proceeds from the additional charge levied on such registration marks will go to anti-abortion groups. The measure was approved by an overwhelming 6-1 vote and the bill now passes to the Senate for final approval.

If the legislation receives the go-ahead, it will make Texas the 20th state to join the scheme, which has so far raised more tha $10 million to assist organisations supporting adoption as an alternative to termination of pregnancy.
