Hatters to Paint the Town
Troubled football team Luton Town, made a glorious last stand at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The team, who face relegation because of a draconian points penalty, notched up a 3-2 win over opponents Scunthorpe United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Supporting them were an army of 40,000 fans - the largest contingent ever to have been mustered for such an event - and even more are expected to line the streets when the sporting heroes travel to a civic reception which is to be lavished on them on Sunday 19th April.
The 'Hatters' nickname is derived from the millinery trade, which once flourished in the area and they are the 'local' team for Regtransfers.co.uk - located just a few miles down the road at Dunstable. The RT directors and staff, many of whom are supporters themselves, are pleased to offer their congratulations on the club's success. Among the company's stock of quality registrations, are the number plates L11 TON and HAT 773R - ideal badges for any one of the army of Hatters' fans.
