I Don't Believe It

The Temple Baptist Church, in Simpsonville, Colorado, is to hold a rally supporting the issue of special 'I Believe' number plates.

Legislation passed last year, by an overwhelming majority, had permitted the inclusion of the words 'I believe' above the registration, together with a picture of a stained glass window with a cross in it.

However, a religious pressure group known as Americans United, immediately launched a legal challenge against the plans and succeeded in halting production following a federal ruling.

The group's action was taken on behalf of the Hindu-American Foundation and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.
