Kriss Akabusi's infectious laugh is probably as well known as his face to British TV viewers and sports fans. An unfailingly cheerful favourite for many years, Kriss was born in London in 1958. His family originally came from Nigeria, and Kriss's spectacular full name, Kriss Kezie Uche Chukwu Duru Akabusi, reflects his Nigerian heritage.

Kriss has amassed an enviable collection of European, World and Olympic medals in the course of a distinguished athletic career. In 1992 his services and achievements were acknowledged when he was awarded the MBE in Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Since moving on from competitive athletics, Kriss has appeared on television many times and is still very much a "household name". More recently, Kriss has applied his dynamic personality to sharing motivation with other people through public speaking and specially devised presentations.
