Engelbert Humperdinck has been performing in public since the early 1950s when he first began taking to the stage in nightclubs. He is a phenomenally successful entertainer who has sold about 150 million records. Engelbert was raised in Leicester, but he moved to the USA in the 1970s. Although never a prolific hit maker in the UK charts, Engelbert has produced a stream of million-selling albums of love songs which have earned him a loyal following amongst fans around the world.

What is perhaps less widely known is Engelbert Humperdinck's considerable contribution to charity, including his involvement with The Leukemia Research Fund, the American Red Cross, and the American Lung Association. He has contributed to several AIDS relief organizations and is a patron of the County Air Ambulance charity in the East Midlands of the UK.
