Don't get your UND 1S in a twist over personal number plates!

John Savage from Wittering in Peterborough, who has an eye for the 'unusual and out of the ordinary', has added the personalised number plate UND 1S to his ever growing collection.
"I do not work in the lingerie world, but I do collect 50's and early 60's memorabilia - anything from cars, clothes, records, jukeboxes, the list goes on and on. I admit that I have sold a few 50's net underskirts to women who require period items of clothing. It causes some amusing comments!" John owns several number plates, including 7 FNP, 4242 PP, TRL 331, as well as UND 1S. He has an impressive car collection to match: 55 Ford Consul, a Ford Thunderbird, Chevy Camero and a Pontiac Transam. "Over the years the house and garages have become more and more like a museum. It does have its benefits though, I am sometimes asked to put my collection on display in public libraries, museums, schools and car shows."
"I started the collection when I was still at school and at that time it wasn't even collectable. I was one of the original 'Teddy Boy's' and
I have even kept my suit, which still fits me today! I think that times were easier in those days, no stress like we all have today. I sometimes attend the original 50's Rock 'n' Roll dances at the Thunderbird Club in Wellingborough. If you don't turn up in 50's clothes, you stand out like a sore thumb - it's like stepping back into my old school days. I seem to just go to work to earn money to feed my obsession of that era!"
"I phoned Regtransfers just to get my registrations valued. I spoke to Justine Burman - who was very helpful. She asked me if I collected number plates, and when I said I did, she told me about UND 1S and
I thought, how unusual, and decided to buy it and sell 7 FNP. I am convinced that I must be an attention seeker, what with the cars and registrations. I must admit they do attract lots of comments!"
