From PO51 BLY The Best Number Plate Company In The World

It was a process of elimination for Peter Doherty of Hayes, Middlesex when it came to choosing a new number plate for his Mercedes CLK230 Convertible. The Project Manager decided to 'Ask Jeeves' to find a plate that spelt a word. "I used their crossword to come up with a list of 12 or more words."

As Peter is an Architect by trade, he was initially looking for DE51 GNS, DE51 RED or DE51 RES but was disappointed to find that they had already been sold. "It came up with ones like MU51 CTV and MU51 CMD, which would be great plates, but they too had gone.

Someone suggested DY51 XIA (Dyslexia spelt incorrectly). They rang the DVLA out of curiosity but were told that it wouldn't be released in case it offended someone. We were quite surprised really, considering some of the 'naughty plates' they have released. One of the best ones that was left was PO51 BLY, so I thought I'd get that."

Peter had never thought of buying a personalised number plate until he decided to buy a new car, but now he has decided to sell PO51 BLY through Regtransfers.co.uk, where he first purchased it. He is now looking to buy other plates that spell words, as an investment.
