A Number Plate for a dog? - it's completely illogical Captain!

5 POK

For the Borkett family from Bedfordshire, the number plate 5 POK (Spock) was very much a logical choice for their much-loved Doberman. The lanky-legged canine was a rescue dog that they named 'Spok' because they thought he looked very "alienesque" with his extra long legs and very pointy ears (when flipped back!)

Surprisingly perhaps, there are no Star Trek fans in this family: "We wanted the plate just for the dog, we are not Trekkies", insisted Mr and Mrs Borkett, "The plate brings smiles to people's faces. One man even said, 'Does Spock know you have his car?'"

Star Trek devotees everywhere, and even Mr. Spock himself would think that buying a number plate for a pet dog certainly was illogical, yet at Registration Transfers, where the Borketts bought their alien mark, sales of personalised plates to dog lovers is not uncommon. For instance, R8 ROT, was bought by Mr. Howell from Wiltshire for his two Rottweilers: "We are now the envy of the Rott fraternity", he said. Likewise, A800 PUG, was bought by Mr. Jackman from Anglesey for his two pet Pugs and A9 DOG was bought by Mrs Purcell from Surrey "because I love dogs and I have two cross-terriers."
