"Rude" Number Plates Get Filtered Out

We know from enquiries we have received that many people have been looking forward to the release of the 08 car registrations for some time. A lot of interest seems to have been generated by the BO08 JOB illustration we have been using during the run up to the release (reproduced here for educational purposes only, of course).

In fact, it has come to our notice that much of the interest has been amongst those with ambitions to obtain some of the cheekier combinations. Alas, many of these people face disappointment due to the customary hair-trigger hacking of the release list by the sensitive souls at the issuing agency. Their resident censors have removed all KN08 and BO08 combinations from the release, thus dashing the hopes of countless would-be comedians who had their hearts set on driving around in a car sporting a "knob" or "boob" gag on the number plates.

No BO0B JOB, no KN08 OUT, no KN08 HED, BO08 GAL or KN08 JOB... You can almost hear the wailing and the gnashing of teeth from all those devastated potential purchasers.

Still, we kind of get used to the censorship thing. They are protecting us from ourselves, you know.

Yup, the new 08 series of car registrations will be on sale from 4th December.

There will be some great fun combinations available.
