A Reminder...

Bookmark and Share

I know I already alerted you to the impending release of our new magazine issue, but we still have some left, so for those of you who have missed out so far (or just weren't paying attention) here's a reminder.

Regtransfers.co.uk: The World of Personal Number Plates is absolutely FREE, and it is the only magazine to combine the very best in personal number plates news with celebrity interviews, competitions and so much more. In fact, ours is the only regular professional magazine produced for the personalised registrations industry and enthusiasts.

This issue boasts great interviews and photos featuring motor racing legend Sir Stirling Moss and former Olympic javelin champion Tessa Sanderson. As always, modesty prevents my colleagues from crowing about what a great job they have done. Fortunately, I am not similarly afflicted, and I am happy to announce that we have produced a fantastic issue, well worth £0.00 of anyone's money. That's right - FREE, gratis, no charge etc etc etc.

If you'd like your copy, just click this link to order the magazine!

Amir Rules!

Bookmark and Share

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention...

As I was on the ferry coming home from my holiday, I was lucky enough to catch Amir Khan's first defence of his Commonwealth Lightweight title. The fight was shown on a big screen in the boat's bar, and it was almost like having a ringside seat.

Regular visitors here, and regular readers of our great free magazine, Regtransfers.co.uk: The World of Personal Number Plates, will recall that Amir was kind enough to have a long chat with our interview team a while ago. Amir shares our enthusiasm for personal number plates, and we enthusiastically follow his fights.

Anyway, the fight was fantastic. Even in the few months since the bout against Limond, Amir has developed as a boxer. His guard was more consistent, with those hands held nice and high, and he looked stronger and more confident than ever - but the confidence was tempered with a calculating edge. You could see him sometimes taking a fraction of a second to think about how he could best exploit each advantage.

When the ref stopped the fight in the fourth round, I think everyone felt relieved that Amir's worthy opponent, Scott Lawton, wouldn't have to take any more of those hooks or uppercuts. I think it also fair to say that no one could dispute the first class perfomance that Amir gave.

That world title will surely be his when the time is right.

*Sigh*...

Sorry about the lapse in posting, but I have just had a week's holiday. Hard though it is to tear myself away from the riveting world of private number plates, I simply had to get away for a break before artistic burnout sapped my creative juices entirely.

With so much riding on my incredible breadth of talent (I carry the department, you know) it is my duty to keep myself fresh and inspired, so a week in Killarney, Ireland was just the thing.

Here's a little video Mrs Blogger shot to chronicle the cultural high point of the trip.

I have to say, although the Irish people are fantastic at many things (music and pubs spring to mind), they totally missed out on the personalised number plates thing when they devised their car registrations system. Their system begins with a two-digit year ID followed by a one- or two-letter regional ID and then a unique sequential number of up to 6 digits. For example, a Dublin registered vehicle from 2006 might bear a number such as 06-D-12345. Just try making a name or a word out of that lot!

For the thousands of you who now feel an overwhelming urge to read up in great detail about the Irish number plates system, may I recommend the Wikipedia entry on Irish number plates.
