A Break from Number Plates...

Yep, we had a nice long weekend over the bank holiday. Of course, it poured with rain pretty much the whole time.

The famous Luton Carnival got totally rained off, and organisers had to cancel the whole thing. One of the main problems was that the the central lake in the park where much of the entertainment takes place overflowed its banks and submerged much of the park's area. It was a real shame, as hundreds of local kids had worked really hard preparing their costumes and floats for the annual celebration. There is talk of finding an alternative date, but sadly that idea looks unlikely to work, for various reasons.

So, flooded roads, damaged fences and bits of fallen tree bough. Lovely.

Just to round it all off, yesterday evening the weather did its best to beat our brains out with hailstones. Below is a short video made by our Assistant IT Manager, Nick. Not the most gripping footage in cinema history, but in weather like that, what else did he have to do but film bits of ice falling from the sky? Hardly about to go for a stroll in that, was he?
