Private Number Plates Bill Still on Course
The Vehicle Registration Marks Bill that we wrote about a few days ago was not amended in the Public Bill Committee, and so the House of Commons considered it, unchanged, for a third time on Friday 20th April. We are happy to report that the Bill passed its Third Reading and will now proceed to the House of Lords.
The bill, intended to simplify car registration number transfers and make them less prone to fraudulent manipulation, is supported by the Cherished Number Dealers Association (CNDA) and the DVLA, as well as by government and opposition MPs.
